How to run the gray test
Use a neutral viewing angle, disable dynamic display enhancements, and compare adjacent tones rather than judging absolute brightness.

Inspect both extremes
Use Shadow detail and Highlight detail. Look for merged tones, abrupt steps, color tint, or flickering in the darkest and brightest ranges.

Verify uniformity
Enter fullscreen Uniformity mode and sweep from low to high values. Compare the center, edges, and corners for patches, shadows, or color shifts.
How to read the result
This is a visual screening tool. Browser color management, room lighting, viewing angle, and display settings can all affect what you see.
Healthy grayscale response
Adjacent patches stay distinguishable, transitions are even, and a solid gray field looks consistent across the panel.
Possible display issue
Merged blocks, visible bands, localized bright or dark areas, tint, or persistent shapes may indicate calibration, uniformity, or panel-aging problems.
